Eligibility

The household must be an Indian citizen.
The household must own a house with a roof suitable for installing solar panels.
The household must have a permanent electricity connection.
The household must not have availed any other subsidy for solar panels.

How to apply (Residential)

Process outline; refer to the official portal for exact steps.

Visit pmsuryaghar.gov.in and select your state/discom.
Register using your electricity consumer number and mobile number, then log in.
Apply for rooftop solar as per the portal instructions and fill out the online form.
Seek feasibility approval from the electricity department.
Post-approval, select a vendor from the registered list and install the system.
Submit installation details for inspection and commissioning.
Upload commissioning report/bills; subsidy is processed to your bank account.

For non-residential entities (commercial/industrial/educational), apply via the respective state portal.
